To Gain Is To Give Up; To Live Is To Die

Proverbs 12:23-24 (New King James Version (NKJV)

23 A prudent man conceals knowledge, But the heart of fools proclaims foolishness. 24 The hand of the diligent will rule, But the lazy man will be put to forced labor.

A wise man knows better than to boast of his knowledge while a foolish person shouts it out, making themselves look more like a fool. There is a saying from Abraham Lincoln that goes really well with verse 23: “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.”

A man who works hard and does their best will be put in positions of authority because they have earned it, but a man who doesn’t apply himself to the job will remain where he is, he will be taking orders not giving them. God doesn’t like laziness in his people, He wants His people to give their all. The way up in the kingdom of God is down. The way to receive is to give. The way to lead is to serve. The way we gain is to give up and the way to live is to die.
