Children are always the most curious little things. Constantly asking why and how. And I find myself as nearly 18 years old just realizing that I’ve stopped asking why and how. I’ve just started accepting things the way they are and not questioning them, being curious about them.
In Erwin Raphael McManus’s book Wide Awake: The Future Is Waiting In You he says this quote:
Curiosity unfortunately is far too often relegated to the place of a childhood luxury. Our passion for discovery and exploration becomes another victim of growing up.
I believe he hit the mark right on with this one. Adults (and teenagers) fall prey to losing their curiosity. Curiosity is a good thing that people often try to quell because we have delegated it to something only for children. But do children not learn more because of their curiosity? We need to be more curious and question things.
