The focus of your life isn’t supposed to be your shortcomings, failures, sin, guilt, or shame. Remember, if you’re looking at the tree, you’re going to crash into it. I think religion has done enough damage by focusing way too much on sin and guilt and shame. Yes, you need to be aware of sin. You need to be honest about it. You need to come clean. Yes, sin can cost you your dreams. Because what you have at your core shapes everything about the life you will live. And sin and guilt and shame are not where God wants you to focus your life. He wants you to focus on the unique nature of your creation-that you’re created in the image and likeness of God, that you have infinite value to God, and were designed by God to live a life beyond your wildest imagination.
We need to clean our spiritual lens, we need to see what God has in store for us. We should clean our lives and focus our lens to where we get a perfect picture.
In my previous devotion, https://eworth2011.wordpress.com/2012/11/07/where-are-you-going/, I talked about how when you focus on the wrong things you keep going towards the wrong things, doing the wrong things.
Lets get our focus changed. Focus on cleaning up your lives, not what you did to make them ‘dirty.’ Focus on God, and the plan He has for you.
